Tales Unspoken
These are films of human stories ranging from a couple of minutes to half an hour, which transport donors and sponsors to a new place and inspire them to take action. These films have meaning and impact, and can change perceptions and assumptions of a place or community. My clients have included Unicef, Save the Children, Hands Up Foundation, HALO Trust and locations span across the Arab world and beyond.

Rawand
Rawand’s father was killed in the devastating conflict in Gaza in 2014. When a child loses a parent in Gaza, the emotional loss is often greatly worsened by the financial insecurity it brings.
While she reminisces about her father and the man he was, she reflects on how her family keep going without him, and how the support received from the UN agency (UNRWA) helps them survive.
This was part of a series of films commissioned by UNRWA to highlight the situation of the most vulnerable children in Gaza.

Ayman and many of his siblings suffer from a rare genetic disorder.
Life in Gaza is incredibly tough, and as well as being mercilessly teased at school, life at home is also a huge challenge.

Father and Son
Conditions in Gaza are more precarious than ever.

We all hope for our children to have better opportunities than we had, but how do we achieve that?

The Gate
Ayan and her family live in the village of Qattana, near Jerusalem. For a decade their lives have been restricted by ‘the gate’ - part of the separation barrier between Palestine and Israel. It restricts the family’s contact with the rest of their community, and means that Ayan cannot attend school unless she stays the other side at her aunt’s house.
Ayan and her mother reflect on their lives the other side and we are given an insight into another life, and the questions they have as yet unanswered.

Mohammad Kullab
Mohammad is among some of the most vulnerable children in Gaza. After his father died, Mohammad, his six brothers and sisters and his mother found themselves in a very precarious situation.

Beautiful Resistance
Motassem is a dance tutor and trainee nurse who lives in Aida Camp, Bethlehem.
Palestinian families like his have been refugees since 1948 and are living the other side of the separation barrier from Jerusalem - cut off from the rest of their homeland and its people.
Motassem inspires his fellow young people by training and leading in dance at Alrowwad - a centre for culture and arts in the camp - the only organisation of its kind which allows young people to immerse themselves in culture and the arts and escape from daily realities.

Abdallah
Abdallah has a life-threatening kidney condition and there is no facility near his home in Hebron, in the Occupied Palestinian Territories for the treatment he needs. We learn of an initiative, Project Rozana, which provides free transportation by volunteer drivers from Israel and the West Bank for Palestinian patients needing urgent treatment.
The story bucks the trend of the usual news story from Palestine and Israel and sheds light on small seeds of hope growing between citizens from both sides of the wall.

Yazan
4-year-old Yazan severely injured his eye after falling in the rubble of his home in Gaza during the 2014 conflict. The local hospitals were not equipped to deal with such severe eye damage.
St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem provided specialist care and an operation from one of the world’s top eye surgeons to treat Yazan’s injury, thereby saving his sight. His grandmother, the only family member eligible to accompany him through an ever more complex travel restriction system for Gazans entering Israel, explains the story.
